Explanation of our contract holder fees.
We would like to provide clarity of the fees that may become payable during a contract you are looking to enter into. We believe you should understand these before you make any decision about a property or before you decide to view a property.
Fee Type | Explanation and Fee (All costs are calculated inclusive of VAT) |
Default fee for late payment of rent. | This is chargeable from when you become 14 days in arrears. This is calculated from the outstanding late payment of rent owed, on which interest is charged at 3% APR above Bank of England base rate for each day that the payment is outstanding. |
Loss of key or other security device. | Landlords and letting agents can charge a tenant a fee to cover the cost of replacing the lost key or security device (e.g fob, electronic device for garage doors, security gates) |
Payment on termination of a contract | In situations where a tenant (contract-holder) wants to leave a fixed-term contract early, the landlord or agent is fully within their rights to expect to be paid for the entirety of the contract. |
